The Korg
T3 has been called "The M1 on
Steroids". It's basically an M1 with an
advanced display, bigger sequencer, diskette
drive the M1 should have had, and twice the
Multisound waveform memory. But not double the
polyphony! Too often I've seen T's touted as
having "double the polyphony of the
M1". They don't.
The T-Series synths don't have the
legendary reputation that the M1 has but don't
let that fool you. They can do everything the M1
can and then some. All patches and sound cards
created for the M1 are compatible with the T.
T3 EX
The T3 EX has the 1 meg of sample
RAM that came standard with the T1. The RAM
enables the synth to load in and utilize new
Multisounds thus increasing it's sonic potential
beyond that of the standard T3. The T3 EX was
sold new and as an upgrade to the standard T3.
Because of this the synth may or may not be
labeled as an EX model. This upgrade is no longer
sold by Korg.
